I've never been one to use pedals, but I've got a matchbox coming, already have a DD3 and Hilton vol ped, and am considering a Black Box, or Freeloader - probably the BB.
So, Having tried the DD3 in the effects loop of the NV400, and finding that it sounded better between the Guitar and the vol ped, and the fact that I'm now using a Twin reverb, I'm thinking this:
Guitar-Matchbox-Blackbox/freeloader-DD3-Hilton-Twin.
does that sound about right to those of you who know? |

Why are you planning on adding so many buffers?
Guitar>Black-box>DD3>VP should do … the others will be more like "butter on fat" since they won't add anything very useful. And, the BB works best when it's first after the PU. |

Thanks Georg. I'm using the Matchbox as a tone/volume control. I may pick up a Blackbox or Freeloader just to experiment with it and see if I like it. |

I would go guitar>BB>volume>delay>amp.
The BB is designed to be the first thing the pickup "sees".
Delay typically goes after volume pedal, else you'll be cutting off the tails.
matchbox or freeloader would go in the BB spot, I don't think you need more than one buffering device. |
