Sometime in the early 80's Manny's music store in NYC had a couple of pedal steels inside the store in showcases, one was a Sho-Bud D-10,another was an Emmons D-10 and the third was an Emmons single neck 8 string/4 pedals...rosewood mica I'm not sure how many knee levers. It had a slightly raised neck maybe a half inch above the body....I've never seen another one?Does anyone know about this model?

I just set one up for a student of mine.... 4 pedals, one lever, rosewood mica, B&W fretboard, and an Emmons branded DeArmond pickup. Nice sounding guitar with a bolt on changer.

Wow - I'd love to find one of those and see how it compares tonally to my Fenders. I'd bet there aren't too many in existence, unfortunately.

Jim,
I was really surprised by this guitar. I own two Emmons PP guitars one S-10 one D-10, so I know what to expect.

This one sounds just like an Emmons.... but what surprised me was that it sounds like a really good Emmons.

Those little student model Emmons' are well known for that great sound. Some of them even sound better then a regular P/P.
I rebuild one.Take a look. Not done on these photo's but it gives an idea.
