| anybody remember those picks that Jeff sold, some had J/F( Fran maybe??) embossed on them some had J/B ( jeff and Buddy??) on them, they were highly chromed or nickle plated, and had a great tone, anybody know where to still get them or a similar pick, anybody want to sell there's??? Thanks |

The JF picks never worked for me. I had to cut and customize them to fit my fingers. Jeff's "one size fits all" didn't fit me as they were too big for my fingers.
I recently bought some new National "NP2" finger picks and now using them. They are "exact" reissue of the original National picks with the same nickel/silver metal composition. I like them better than the Showcase 1941's which are supposed to be a copy of the original National finger picks. |

I use a JF on my index finger, with a softer old National on my middle finger. I find the JF nice to round out chording, seeing that it's thick and solid. The National, being soft and more flexible, is better for my middle finger because I do most of my lead picking with my thumb and middle finger and it's nice to have that snug fit.

I use Jeff's picks and will never go back to Nationals. They are so comfortable and the Nationals would make my fingers hurt.

I have a set of the old BJs Diamond Rings my wife ordered from Jeff in the eighties. They are Chrome plated and I love them. Fran sells JFs which are exact copies except they are not chrome plated. I bought a set from her in Dallas last year for back up, they are very good, but not quite the same. Some one told me that the BJs come up on ebay once in a while. I want another set.

I use the red powder coated picks made by the guy who makes the red rajah bars. The reason being that they don't slip off your fingers.
They sound the same as bars that are not powder coated. I was afraid they might not, but I've not noticed and difference.

May just be my ears, but I have some of Jeff's earlier picks (not the diamond ring)that appear to be better finish quality than the recent ones. Older sound a little fuller to me..the new ones are thinner.
Good picks, but was wondering if anyone else has noticed a difference. |

The older diamond picks were chrome plated. The newer ones are not. I like the tone of the chome better, but can't find them anywhere. At five bucks a set, they are worth every penny. I bought a bunch of them and thinking about finding a chome shop to plate a few of them ans see what I get. I use these picks for pedal steel, lap, and dobro. Love them!
