Rico Turchetti - New Recordings Found

Post by Chris Turchetti »

Hello All,
This is Chris Turchetti, Rico's Son.
I found an old cassette tape with my Father playing a GB gig with me on the drums ( Yes, I was a Professional Musician at 16 years old in the Providence Federation Of Musicians Local 51 - Dad got me in … SSShhhhhh… ) here in the Rhode Island area from around the late 80's, early 90's I figure & also, some recordings that he made at home on his reel to reel with some musician friends that somehow got transferred to cassette. The quality isn't all that bad really as I cleaned them up in my computer, there are just a couple of crackles and slight dropouts, but it's all good.
I'd love to share them with you all somehow.
I don't know the names of the songs except for " In The Mood " And Maybe " Sweet Sue " ? Not sure... Sorry, I wasn't the Band Leader, My Dad Was …
I don't have the money to make Cd's and mail them all around, so maybe in this computer age, there's another way ?
Even so, I know that I'D always rather have a CD myself … but …
Can someone let me know of any ideas ?
And if there's even Interest?
Thanks In Advance.

Hi Chris,

As far as distributing the recordings easily I'd suggest bandcamp. B0b has a few things on there along these lines - like this otherwise lost Joaquin Murphey album: https://b0blee.bandcamp.com/album/hawaii-forever
Bandcamp is very easy to use and is free if you're offering the music free. If you're looking to sell the recordings they take a percentage.

Digitizing the recordings should be fairly easy if you have access to an audio interface. Any of your friends with a home recording studio(even a very basic one) should be able to digitize the recordings.

I would absolutely love to hear them I'm sure a lot of other forum members would too.

Whew !!
Good to know that it's actually up & running.
It wasn't Difficult in a Hard sort of way, but it was Hard in a Difficult sort of way … Lol ...
Dad never complained when he did things for me and I'll do anything I can to keep his music playing ...
There will be more.
Thanks Again.
