Upgrading a small amplifier.

I know from past experience that new students of the Lap Steel are limited in funds. Sometimes it is a stretch just to pay for the steel, amp, picks, and lessons. As one furthers in their ability to play they want better sounds so I have found, upgrade your amplifier the cheapest way you can and give your sounds some body.

I have built a platform to set on top of my 15 Amp Ibanez Amplifier. As shown in the picture I mounted a Danelectro FAB Delay and a multi plug power cord. The power cord provides for a plug in AC converter so that I don’t have to use batteries. Also extra outlets for further equipment I want to mount in my platform. When the guitar is run through the FAB it can be adjusted to give the sound quality reverb which adds body to the sound.

Any questions! Please let me know what they are.

That’s correct Michael! I made the platform to put it an other components that I plan on installing. I used the FAB for a long time on the floor with batteries and my batteries run down quickly so I knew that I needed an AC power source for the FAB and any other equipment that I install in the future. The multi-outlet serves me well in a venue where cables are going all directions.

The platform works out rather well and the FAB helps out the sound coming out of the cheapy amplifier. Just another idea of how to organize the multitude of items that we hook up to our guitars for better and/or different sounds.

Thank you for your reply Michael! Have a good Steel Guitar day.
