wondering if anyone could explain or even make a video (Mickey Adams?) demonstrating how and where to add oil to a guitar. also, how often it should be done and the best oil to use. thanks in advance

Check out Greg Cutshaw page and it may be on Youtube as well he has outstanding photographs on every aspect of lubing and where to lube the steel.

I use hoppe's 9 rifle lubercating oil. The stuff is really tacky, it last a while, sucks into the cracks well, and keeps cleaner, and acually cleans the changer. My msa changer was really grimmy. And always had black broken down oil on it. I started using the hoppe's and the oil on it started to clear and it acually helped clean the gunk from the changer. It works

I'm with you, Jordan! I use sewing machine or gun oil. I don't care for dry lubes because they won't migrate after they're applied.

Donny, I'm sure you know that the TriFlow, that many here recommend, is a liquid when it's applied and that liquid evaporates leaving the teflon particles behind. It's isn't the same as a "dry" lube. It is extremely effective as a lube for pedal steel guitars, and migrates down into areas, like changers, very well.

TriFlow does come in a few different configurations, though. So one must be sure they're picking the right one. Here's a picture of the one I choose.
