Has anybody used UHMW polyethylene (ultra high molecular weight) for a nut?

e.g.:

https://www.amazon.com/Precision-Fixtures-Durable-Material-Bandsaws/dp/B01IU6U1UE/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1537911418&sr=8-7&keywords=uhmw+plastic

It is dense and used a lot in woodworking for slippery surfaces, jigs, bandsaw wheels, &tc.

Thanks a heap

.

No sir I have not.
I use bone or aluminum.

My only question about that material is how slick they say it is.
I secure my nuts with two tiny drops of crazy glue on either end.
I'm not sure how well crazy glue would hold something made to be slippery.

Unless of course you use screws and then pretend I'm not here....... Razz

Glue won't stick to it. For a nut it is too soft. I use it in a lot of jobs at work.
