Thanks everyone for the kind comments! Yes, a flat pick works best on this song, for me anyway. Especially that thumpity-thump part. I have tab for this in my "25 MORE Songs" Book/CD for C6 lap steel. Click on the link below for more details. The tab is for 6-string. This version is played on 8-string, but it's very close to the 6-string version.

Thanks Doug! Fabulous performance; You Da Man!
I really enjoyed that. That was a song I learned from the Ventures lp's back when I was young. You really did it justice! Keep 'Em coming, please! Roger :)

Thanks guys! I'm blown away by the number of views this video continues to get: over 9,000 per day. I'm excited about that because it means that thousands of people around the world are seeing and hearing a steel guitar, some for the first time. I've had comments from viewers in Europe, Russia, South America, Japan... many of whom do not know what instrument I'm playing and are curious to learn more about it. That's a good thing for our instrument!

Doug, you have done an outstanding job with this one!! I would say that it is the best version I have ever heard, including the original Ventures version. Absolutely awesome!!
Thanks for sharing that.
