This might of interest to some steel players. I had the opportunity to record for a company in NY last year, Solo Sounds.. We recorded 20 Hank Williams tunes solo, no band... just steel playing the melodies...Challenging, fun... Here is the link..

Yes Bob, it was all done on the E9th tuning. I was going to go straight steel on a few, but the producer did not want it to be that retro.. Two amps were miked up, a Peavey 112 and a Dr.Z Surgical Steel, a nice reverb and tracking with a click.. I also cut another record for them at the same sessions, 15 George Jones songs... As I work for HankJR, I am kinda of partial to the Hank recording...
