I had a full length of Un-Threaded Piano-wire (3ft).
I had a 4" Threaded rod end from a BMI that I no longer own.
I found a cool connector at the hardware store.
With threaded rod created, I will trim to the correct length and add the desired change to my MCI.
I have all the other hardware (bellcrank, nylon-tuner).
I will keep an eye out for a new rod but this will work for today!

It pays to wander the aisles of hardware stores, to make mental notes of such things. |

Excellent ! theres always more than 3 ways to skin a cat ! One piece pull rods are used because they are less expensive, less parts. There are no rules ! _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

Now you have a pull rod that is adjustable in length! _________________ Lee, from South Texas - Down On The Rio Grande

Pete, you should design a rod with a turnbuckle in the middle ! I'm too tired to do it ! _________________ Emmons L-II , Fender Telecasters, B-Benders , Eastman Mandolin ,

I remember as a kid a long pair of rods with a turnbuckle in the middle of about 1/8 inch rods.
It was designed to be attached to a wood screen door frame and used to hold it square.
Just put Screen Door Turn buckle in Google search and several sets come up. 1 only about 1.99 a set. Would make a great adjustable pull rod by adding a nut to the right hand thread side to secure it. and threads for the tuning nut. Just a thought. |

Bobby, my homebuilt guitar back in the 60's had some screen door no sags, barn door hinges, Ford windshield wiper pulleys and cable and some things I didn't know what they were under it. It worked and sounded great. I had a Standel Custom 15 that I paid a months pay for ($400.00) and a WEM Copy Cat real tape delay. I would settle for that sound now.
Of course the hands were much younger!

The turbuckle was used in ZB Custom guitars. They were the hardest part in adjusting the guitar for me. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . I've been looking at all my orphaned rods and nylon-tuners, thinking, oh wow I can still use these, now that I know how to make rods! |

Way before the internet and easy access to parts, I added a lever to a ShoBud 6138 using hardware I found in the basement. For the pull rod, I used a bicycle spoke. (They are threaded and adjustable at one end) It obviously didn't match the other rods, but worked fine. |

The bike-spoke is a great idea for a threaded rod! |
