Does anyone have the chart for Sawed off Shotgun?

I have played bass on that tune with Jim Loessberg several times and I think a chord chart is in my files. I am out of town for work and will check when I am home. The only tricky part is a two beat "C" in the modulation from "A" to "F".

If I don't have it I can put one together for you.

PM or e mail me if you haven't heard from me in a few days. It's pretty hectic but I will try to remember.

Jim Loessberg sells a tab book for his whole CD, including "Sawed off Shotgun" available at his website. It's amazingly affordable and also has Lloyd Green's "Midnight Silence".

Hi Beverly,

Here are the chords for my version. It is written in letters instead of numbers since the two parts are in different keys (A and F). I am putting split bars in parentheses. An "x" after the chord means a hard stop on the first beat of the chord. The tildes (~) set apart each 4-bar segment.

Verse 1.
(D A) A (D A) A ~ D D B B ~ E E A Ax

Verse 2
(D A) A (D A) A ~ D D B B ~ E E A C

Bridge
F Amin Bb F ~ F F C C ~ F Amin Bb F ~ G C F Ex

Verse 3
(D A) A (D A) A ~ D D B B ~ E E A A

Best wishes,

Jim

P.S. Bill, if you have any copies of my charts from a past steel show they are probably wrong. I always scribbled those things out at the last minute! I think the above is correct. I hope we get to play together again sometime. Let me know when you are in Austin next and we'll descend on the Mexican food restaurant.

Jim,
I did a screen shot of those chords. Then, I looked it up on YouTube and there you were! Great song. I think if I play along with you, I'll be able to do a "Beverly" version of it soon. Thank you for sharing.

Hi Beverly,

While re-reading my reply it sounds as if I am taking credit for the arrangement, which was taken from one of the Charley Pride's Pridesmen LPs. We stuck pretty close to their arrangement so I probably shouldn't have said "my version" but that the chord changes were for "the recording on my CD".

An interesting side note, my dear friend, the late Randy Reinhard, was the piano player on the Pridesman LP and also played on my recording. I miss Randy greatly and am very thankful that we got to play and record together a lot.

Cheers,

Jim
