KSGA meeting on August 5th in Baxter Springs, KS

Post by Douglas Cole »

We will have our monthly meeting in our usual place at 4th and West Street in the OLD Community Center in Baxter. Meeting will start at 1 PM. Sound and backup musicians will be available. We will have some special guests this month, so come see who it is. Food is provided, but we can always use some side dishes, finger foods, snack food, chips, etc. This meeting and jam is open to the public. Space is limited, but we always find a way to pack everyone in. A 50/50 drawing is usually held and I'm sure this month will be no exception. We will discuss our October Show and talk about improvements and invitations. All input is appreciated. Be sure to check out our Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1694542493962743/

Great turnout! Met some some new people and hopefully becoming friends. Everyone played their steel guitars really well.

The day after

Post by Douglas Cole »

We had 10 total steelers at the club meeting on Sunday. Great players. There just weren't enough hours in the day to listen to as much music as we wanted. But we had a great fellowship with each other, had a real good meeting and some fantastic food. If this is a pre-cursor to our annual show, then "it's gonna be a doozie"!!! Lee and I hope to get our pre-list done by end of week and start contacting all the players. We want them to have at least a 30-day lead on when they are playing so they can make appropriate travel arrangements, etc.
