I am currently using a Nashville 112 as my practice amp but would like to obtain a nice sounding stereo effect behind my Emmons
Black Rock PP Would I have to buy another amp similar to the 112 or just use a high quality external speaker ?

stereo requires two amps, or a Stereo amp which has two amps in a single package, just like your home stereo system.
Also, true stereo requires a split stereo pickup but considering that most players don't have any such thing they use a stereo delay or reverb effects unit and send each of the output channels to a separate amp.
An extension speaker is just that, another speaker added to the first, same exact signal. This is not stereo, it is MONO with two speakers.

If you can try one out from a music store, try the Fender 90 DSP Delux amp, very affordable and although a little less power than the PV, the second amp in stereo amp can have less punch and still make a nice difference in your sound. If possible try the one with the Celestion speaker. Light too, about 26 lbs.
However, remember that when you are miced off the mains of the stage sound system will only be mono.

John, I plug my GFI SD-10 into a Peavey Pro-Fex II digital effects preamp with a left and right output. From the outputs on that, I go into the left and right inputs of a DPC 1000 - a digital power amp with a Left and Right input and output. From the outputs on the DPC, I go into a pair of Peavey 15 in Black Widow Speakers/Cabinets. Previous comments about not being TRUE stereo are correct... but kinda meaningless as it sounds sooooo dang good!! Total cost of such a rig is as follows:
Pro-Fex II .. about $200
DPC 1000 ... between $250 and $350 - if you look hard.
Speaker cabinets ... about $200 each.
A cheaper alternative if you're not playing for others is a HOTT-WATT Battery Amp with Digitial effects and a stereo headset. Last one I bought was around $40 bucks ... not counting the headset! The sound is great and it's soooo much easier to carry than the mess I described above!
