Vertical Knee Lever B-A#

OK guys, I know there has been other topics about this. But I am hoping to ask you guys to share some tips and 2 cents about the KL.

What are some common licks you might do with it? Also just for sake of opinion what is the correct way to play it.

i'm still a fairly new player (about 8 months now) and still in full-on learning mode, but i've recently been playing around with the LKV B->A# change, and even added another pull rod so that I have it in the lower octave as well (string 5/9 on U12).

* i use it for melodic licks - anywhere you're playing a major chord with pedals A and B down, using the LKV and releasing it makes a nice bluesy 3rd-of-the-scale sound (minor 3rd of the chord as a grace note slide into the major 3rd of the scale). so, take any lick that has AB pedals depressed through the lick, and then use it and release to get a little bluesy grace note sound.

* if you're already playing A pedal/D lever to A pedal/F lever for a Vsus4-to-I sound, you can add the LKV to the A pedal/D lever to get a V-to-I on the same strings. just another neck location/string group to play that signature A pedal squeeze sound. your mileage may vary re: being in tune - i find it sound fine on mine. it also might be easier on a setup like mine where the D lever is RKL rather than the more common LKR.

* i have my seat height and leg height set so that i engage the LKV by lifting my heel off the ground (most often using LKV while the A lever is depressed). i have no idea if that is proper technique, but it's working for me so far. some day i'll take a lesson and find out... Razz

Here you go Cameron. This thread explains the diminished with that lower and that is a wonderful chord and lots of other uses.

There will be more if you do a search. I don't always find it easy locating stuff in a search here on the forum.
