I don't remember who it was or how I got pointed in the direction of the website guitar-masters.com, but whoever posted the link, thanks an awful lot.
I've only been trying to play this monster for 40 years, and although I can play it without lookin' at it, my chord progressions sometimes sound pretty lame.
In effort to figure out what is going on, I've been picking apart BE's "Just a closer walk with thee" track from his Chord Vocabulary. Well, whaddaya know, the method and madness is described quite well at http://www.guitar-masters.com/Subst/Chart04.html

What a great site Ray. Any one who wants to bone up on guitar related theory would have alot to digest, in addition to that Carol Kaye site recommended by Jim Cohen, (even though its directed towards Bass) and that monster Mode thread/site by Denny Turner
