They were built for a few years in the early '50s, slightly more expensive than a Dynamic but less than a New Yorker. They're relatively rare and have a similar market value to '50s New Yorkers. I think they sold poorly because they were somewhat redundant with other National models at the time, though they did have a unique body shape.

The tuners on that one are replacements.

I have a D6 version of the console guitar on the catalog page. Also a very cool guitar. It's like a combination of a Dynamic and a Stringmaster.
