Just picked up a quilter aviator and am noticing a high pitched feed back when I first turn the amp on an am not playing. It is there with the volume down as well. Can't notice when you start playing. Any thoughts I have a 30 day return. Thank you!

I owned an Aviator head and that is not normal. Mine was always noise free. Contact Quilter, they are great to help.

Since its new, I would return it for a replacement.
I have two Quilters, a Steelaire Rack and a 101 Mini Reverb and both are quiet, no noise.

Greg, I didn’t even buy my Rackmount from Quilterlabs, but called them and they were extremely helpful... Call them, they WILL fix you up

Update. I plugged in when I got home and have not had any feedback. I think it could have been the electronics in the hotel room. Thanks everyone

This actually is very indicative of a bad patch cable. (Always nice to chime in late...)
One thing to watch out for if you hear high pitched noises that seem almost like micro-phonic tubes is that the center conductor and even the external conductors of cables can behave poorly as the conductance decreases. This is especially true when using many types of solder-less cables. Should you hear very high pitched squeals, carefully wiggle the ends of your cables and if you hear it suddenly stop or it the signal cuts out altogether, that is your culprit.
