Soft rack case question? PLEASE CLOSE

Is anybody using one of these for steel? I need a 4U rack case and have been seriously considering a soft side case, but it seems to me that they just won't work if I sit it on the floor next to me. The Gator case front and back flaps don't completely remove. Seems like this might be a problem on the back flap. Doesn't sound like it would sit level if you folded the flap under. It might work if you folded it out. I think these type cases would work fine laying flat but just aren't suitable for placing on their edge. Looks to me like they would just fall over.

I responded to your other post about a Gator molded case.

In general I don't recommend the "bag" or cloth type cases. They can tend to hold in the heat more than a "hard" case, and heat is an enemy of equipment.
