Even though I'm posting this online - I encourage you all to go out and buy this July 2018 issue of Guitar Player Magazine in hopes they will publish more articles on the pedal steel. Once again - hats off to Joe:

Thanks again Robert!
Some thoughts: First, this article was written in the context of this being a "slide guitar" issue. So, part of the interview was a technical discussion of how the bar works on a pedal steel as opposed to a guitar slide, plus some other technique questions.
Second, we all know that I'm not a "virtuoso player" as stated (I'd nominate Tommy White among others for that distinction). Rather, I'm barely a weekend warrior and my hobby is amusing myself by making an album every now and then.
Third, since I felt this album turned out pretty well, I hired a publicist to try and maximize it's exposure. Hence, a Guitar Player article, which is pretty cool because when I was coming up GP was the only game in town.

Hi there Joe. Please keep amusing yourself so the rest of us can continue to enjoy the fruits. Great stuff!
(And hats off to your publicist!)
