Steel player tattoo

Post by Cody Russell »

Taking my first tour to AK this week and have a tattoo artist friend up there that want s to give me a deal. It’ll be my first tattoo. Any ideas for the steel guitar art would be welcomed.

It's your body. It's your choice. But DON'T do it.

Go for it. Ink is personal and body adornment doesn't have the stigma it once had. I got lots. Maybe a bar and picks? I dunno. Lots of room for coolness here.

Need pics when it's done!,,

Definitely post pictures when it's done. I've given this same idea some thought and haven't came up with anything creative or exciting enough to pull the trigger.

The full undercarriage of a D-12 PP 9 + 9.

Anything less would display a lack of commitment.

Have you ever owned,,,or seen a shirt that you liked so much that you wanted to wear it, and no other for the rest of your life?

There are only two options as I see it.
Either I'm right, or there is a sinister conspiracy to conceal the fact that I'm right.

Nothing highlights generational differences more than tattoos.
It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.

On top of the left knee, of course!

Tattoos are rather personal to me. I have quite a few interests and loves such as, trains, planes, guns, GS dogs and Corvettes (I've owned 5 of them). However, my one huge passion in life is my steel guitar. I've been playing for over 40 years and it definitely is a part of my life. So, several years ago I got a tat of my steel on my arm. I like it! It defines a part of me. But, it was my choice not anybody else's. if you or anybody don't like it, that's too bad. After all, it's just their opinion and opinions are like a-holes, everybody has one. If you want to get a tat of a steel or fret markers or a logo, then, go ahead. It's your body and your choice to do. Get one and enjoy it!

That's what I was thinking. I like steel guitar, but it's just not an elegant-looking instrument that you'd want needled onto your body. I also liked the tats of the fret markers I saw on one of the links.

Cody- since you play a variety of sliding instruments, I'd steer clear of any brand identification.

Yes, it would be like getting a tattoo with your girlfriend's name and then changing girlfriends. :D

I don't see any problem with brand ID. No different than having a Chevy tat and later switching to Ford.
