I’m planning a trip from Indy to Nashville for the weekend if Feb 3rd. The plan is to take my ‘82 Sho~Bud Pro-1 somewhere to have it set up. It doesn’t need any repairs that I’m aware of— just adjusted and lubricated. Anyone have any recommendations? I’d prefer someone who’s friendly enough to let me observe the process.

I second Jeff Surratt. He knows sho bud guitars very well. I played one he refurbished and it was outstanding. Real great guy too. You couldn't go wrong with him.

I ended up going with Mike Scaggs in Murfreesboro. And I'm super glad I did! He went through my pedal steel with great attention to detail. And he explained what he was doing along the way. He offered advice, encouragement, and introduced me to the incredible musicians that would appear in his shop. It was an invaluable learning experience for a newbie like me.

Ricky was right, he's definitely a nice guy. And if I ever have the money, I'm buying one of those P2P amps.
