Loretta Lynn 1969

Boy, what a great band she had here. Is this Bob Hempker on steel? The steel and guitar are so locked together on those really fast little passages.

Another video of Loretta with good steel presence. Anyone recognize the steel player?

Ahh OK. Big Jim. He looks a lot different here than he did on Paychecks 80's Lone Star show. He had amazing technique and seems he was as good on C6 as he was on E9.

I think that's lip sync Bob. The steel does the intro before the player moves his hands and the drummer's snare beats aren't always on beat.

He sure sounds like Hal Rugg which is difficult for any steel player to do.
