i have a emmons legrande here, have the full lower on the 5th sting, wont come back to tuning when applied, but if you tap a or c pedal than of course it does. seems to be plent of slack in the pull rod, and also if you wiggle it it wont let it come back, not until you hit the pedal's A&C will it come back. i see the springs and also the screws to adjust, but you cant get to the heads to do so. changer seems to have plenty lubicant. any ideals? thanks Joe

On my P/P there is a return spring mounted close to the body. There may be other reasons for your problem, but it sounds suspciuosly like a weak return spring. Try tightening it.

There could also be a burr on the changer finger side or the axle that runs through the fingers. I had the same problem. I disassembled the changer, took fine sandpaper on a flat surface, and sanded the change finger sides smooth. I also buffed the axle. This cured my problem.

I looked at my legrands,i think you have to unhook the spring then turn the spring on the screw,,i had to do this on another guitar,,i think this a common problem on all guitars,,you might have to put on some return compensators,,but you need a cross shaft and a couple of bellcranks, pull rods and a free lower hole,as well as o rings,,but you may already know this,,been wanting to put a couple on my guitar,,

possibly a semi-bound cross shaft, you should have a slight amount of slack in moving the cross shaft back and forth. I would disconnect the pedal also and try it, see if it returns
