Anyone ever have this problem? Goodrich gets something like a tight spot in the middle of the travel and then eases back up again. I haven't had the string off, but you seem to be able to roll the pot without resistance with your fingers. Thanks, Jack.

It's generally an issue with the string winding or pulley alignment, I've encountered it a time or two after changing pots.

I use the Goodrich L120 and have had the same problem described. Tried all the obvious 'fixes', string adjustment, alignment of pulley, and the lightly lubing the bronze bearings; no effect. Mine was fixed by putting a drop or two of 3-in-one oil on the pot shaft next to where it goes into the pot. Is still smooth after many jobs.

Thanx,
Jim

Yes! The pot shaft, even a new one, should be oiled!

(I guess everybody doesn't know that. )

It's hard to find really good consistant pot~quality nowadays! I just got a brand new volume~pot that had a dead~spot about half way ON and also a hard bind. Nothing solved the problem but to try another pot that didn't have a dead~spot and bind half way ON! {Quality~Control¡}

Maybe it's time to try the LDR pedal. I have the earlier version, and just got the new Goodrich LDR2 - it is an astonishingly good pedal. With only poor quality pots available these days I would suggest you give the LDR2 a try -- you won't be disappointed!! And you will never have to worry about pots and strings packing up again !
