Who made this bar?

Post by b0b »

I used this ceramic bar for years and really liked the sound of it. Then I dropped it and it broke. Does anyone know who made it? I'm pretty sure I bought it at the ISGC in St. Louis.

I recall seeing Scotty play his frying pan with a ceramic bar at a local show and when I asked him about it he told me they were made years ago and the company was long gone...... Good luck, if you find one I am sure you'll let the forum know!

It's not just that it's ceramic. There are lots of ceramic bars available. This one was heavier because of being hollow and filled with shot. It had a unique feel and tone. I'd really like to find out who made it.

Have you tried Winchester or Remington, lol. Never seen anything like that. Bet it was unique feeling.

Hey Bob,
I have one of those in Blue color that I will send you if you want it. I bought it at the Texas Steel Guitar show and never used it. I'll be happy to send it to you. I can't remember what size it is. Just send me the address.

A guy in Dallas made "red Rajah" bars a number of years ago. I don't know anything about their construction, only that they were red. He was a steel player. Chuck Bratton was his name. He ran a small guitar store, called "Guitar Center." i believe he died a few years ago as well.

The one I have is very light, I don't think it has anything in it.
