Richard if you haven't heard Milo, listen to Don Henley's album "Cass County". Milo plays some really nice and tasty stuff on it, some really good songs also...Stormy |

Milo is amazing. I see him as one of the the top three pedal steel players in the world today. The other two being Paul Franklin and Tommy White. That`s a pretty strong statement obviously, but that`s just my take on it. And as a multi-instrumentalist he just takes the cake. |

"These arms of mine" intro is one of the greatest. Simple and beautifully played, just works. |

I found some Tube links for Milo Deering while browsing around on Bill Fergusons tribute website. I have never heard of Milo before today. The question I keep asking myself is....WHY NOT??? Holy crap everyone should know who he is.
He is fantastic, and yeah it really is good to see somebody with that kind of talent actually getting airplay and tour time with one of the great bands of all time. |

Of particular note is his version of 'Raisin' the Dickens' (found on Youtube) where he takes rides on several instruments. |

Is that unusual? That's one of the first tunes I noodled with when I got my S10 last year, just to see if it was possible. The way Milo plays it is not possible for me, at least not in the foreseeable future, but it lays out very nicely on E9. |

I think most would agree that it's traditionally played on C6.
Anything is possible, of course.

My thought after viewing that video is that perhaps his guitar featured the "Chalker" setup (necks reversed, C6 on top). I also watched a video of Buddy playing that same tune and it appeared that as far as the fret board is concerned, both were using very similar positions. |
