While I have only been playing a couple years using a wonderful stage one, I have acquired this Sho Bud Pro II that seems to have sound above and beyond. Maybe I just like the tone of the older models. Anyway, I would appreciate any comments / Info I can get as to quality, year, desirability and such. I haven't found a serial number.

Referred to as the round-front, barrel-behind-swivel-pullers model (or similar wording), it has been called the best sounding Sho-Bud there was.
Not the model I have but I'm roughly quoting Sho-Bud experts such as Ricky Davis.

Oh yeah… now that’s a Bud… A++
First-gen ProII. They pretty much never got any better. Congrats… it’s a keeper.

I would guess early to mid 70's model... I had a Pro II, later model with the square front, narrow pedals, and received it fall of 76.

awesome guitar, serial number will be to the right of the sticker on the bottom of the guitar, stamped in to the wood, and end plate...

This is the very first series "Pro-II" that came out right as "The Professional" was being faded out...probably 1972-ish. So it is basically a Sho~bud Professional in every way, except they got rid of the "Racks" to pull the Barrels and put in Crossbars with two-hole pullers with rollers, to pull the Barrels. Made for a much smoother action; but still the single/single fingers(the best sounding fingers ever put out by ShoBud) and barrel tuning; so you can raise or lower a string as many times as you want with barrels down one rod.
Coil Tab switches for the dual pickups...
Have fun.

I've always been an Emmons guy but... I had a Pro II just like this back in the early 70s. I truly wish I still had it..!! It was an awesome sounding guitar. Mine was 1" taller than standard, which was slightly too short for me.

I totally agree with Ricky and others, these were the best sounding Buds ever made. Enjoy...!!!
