I have had a lifelong dream to visit Austin and my dream is finally coming true. I will be in Austin on Oct 25, 26 and 27 and want to hear as much pedal steel as possible during this time. Please let me know if you are in a band or if you know another steel player who is in a bank that may be playing during this time? Thanks so much.

I'll only be at The Broken Spoke Oct. 24th of that week. Austin alone, has easily 25 locations with live bands playing EVERY night of the week....

Darn it. I'll miss both of your shows on the 24th and the 28th, but I hope to be able to hear some steel guitar music during my visit Oct 25-27.

Any chance you can change the dates of your trip?

I will be at The Longhorn(aka Ginny's) the 26th, 6p-8p, with Them Duqaines, and The Driskill with Cornell Hurd on the 28th.
Alvin Crow plays the 9p show at Ginny's on 26th. He is worth seeing even if Herb will not be there.
The Derailers are at the Spoke the 26th, but no steel.
Jim Stringer is at The White Horse the 26th at 10pm and James Shelton will likely be on steel. Looks like it may be a thin stretch of days.

On Friday, Oct. 27th, I'll be playing steel with Chip Sneed at the South Austin Senior Activity Center. Lots of old country and fifties pop. Admission is $5.
