I bought a Cougar S10 that I am cleaning and restoring. The 2 reversing mechanisms for the all pull knee levers, RKR and LKR were gear driven,,,some type of nylon gear that have a few teeth missing. I could rotate the gears enough to still use the original mechanism,,,but I have fabricated this other one that I think is simple and effective (the lower "finger" has a small roller on it so there is no friction).

Any other ideas for reversing those Knee levers?

I built a few like you did, with the small roller on it so there is no friction. I've done a good deal of looking at other mechanisms, and I see no need to change it. It is a simple, yet elegant design, and works great.

Yes Tim,,,works well. I'd like to keep it original but those mechanisms take up a lot of room under there

Sonny, I too just fabricated two reversers for an upgrading of a ShoBud Maverick. I used the string balls from a couple of old bass strings as rollers. They worked great. I also realized that the one to one ratio created by equal lengths of the contacting arms, could literally be any length and have no effect on how far or how stiff the lever throw would be as long as they were equal. Mine came out very nice also.RP

Hey Ron,,interesting that the length does not matter,,,I haven't hooked it up to try the travel yet. Also great idea for the ball ends of bass strings. I need to make on that "bridge" over a pedal cross rod,,,not sure how that will work.
