I just aquired a Standel Studio SG12. A friend gave it to me, he asked me if I wanted a project amp. He said it was noisy. I plugged a guitar into it and tried it out. It crackled and hummed but sounded pretty good. I cleaned all the pots jacks and switches with Deoxit. It now sounds perfect. Crystal clear, articulate with great note separation. Its got a great reverb and tremolo. The only problem i see is the speaker is a 8 ohm Fender Oxford i think 1958. It should be 4 ohm. I have two questions, what is the light bulb on the output for and what is the jack on the back right labled signal line.
Thanks Will

That lamp is there to help prevent a short circuit of the output stage.

BTW, the '69 schematic I'm looking at says it's valid for all Custom and Studio models, and it says that an 8 ohm speaker is correct for the Studio 12 and 20 models. All other '69 models are 4 ohm outputs.

Here's a link to the schematic I'm looking at...
