Just bumping Mr. Macey's post for this important online event. As we speak - Jay Dee and Mike Jones are working a shift at Layla's on Broadway in Nashville - two black Emmons's side by each and both of these great players in fine form. Wednesday will be a classic with Lloyd and Jay Dee - together again - recreating the "Sweethearts of the Rodeo" LP:

Lloyd Green & Jay Dee Maness will be working the Wednesday August 16th @ 7:00 pm CST Music City Roots "Dylan / Cash and the Nashville Cats Tribute Show" at the Factory in Franklin, TN. Also on the bill are Tracy Nelson, Charlie Worsham and Jon Randall. The theme of the show will be "The Sweethearts of the Rodeo" corresponding with their recently recorded CD (produced by John Macey at Cinderella in Nashville). Was fortunate to attend Music City Roots last night. Besides Lloyd and JayDee on steel, Russ Pahl on rhythm and Al Perkins on tele. Steel guitar fans of all ages. It was nice to see the reaction of the crowd.
Not bad for $10 general admission.
Oh and Lloyd playing through a Telonics combo and JayDee I'm not sure. |
