Here are some photos of a recent guitar build, a 7 string FryPan-7, slotted head, all 6061 aluminum alloy, with a Jason Lollar 7 string Horseshoe Pickup:

No. I use two pieces, the body is made from 7" diameter round bar, cut to 2" long, the neck starts with 4"x1" bar. I use manually operated lathe and mill for the machining of parts, not CNC. Here are two work in progress photos, where you can see the parts more clearly:
