I'm trying to determine if there is any consistancy among the makes of steels, regarding the size and style of the cross shafts on different brands. These are the shafts that the bell cranks are attached to. I'd like to know what style is used (square or round) and the dimensions of these shafts? I know the style and dimension of the Fessendon (5/16" square and 1 7/8" long, measured from the center of the shaft to the end), and the old MSAs (3/8" round and 1 1/2" long for the 4-hole bellcranks). What about other brands, including those listed below and some I may have omitted?

Anapeg - Carter - BMI - Dekley - Derby - Desert Rose - Emmons - Excel - Franklin - Fulawka - JCH - Kline - GFI - Lamar - Marrs - Mullen - Nikaro - Performance - Pedalmaster - Promat - Rains - Rayline - Remington - Sierra - Wilcox - Williams - Zumsteel

Some may have had one style at one time, then changed to another style. I'd appreciate knowing this too. ...Tom

Tom, The Rains guitars have 5/16" square crossrods. 1-5/8" from center of cross shaft to tip of bellcrank.
