The 2017 OSGA Convention was held at the Playhouse in Broken Arrow.
This convention was marked not only by the great music but a tremendous comradery among the musicians.
We respect our flag and remember those who have fought or died for our country.
Roy Rosetta. I heard so many comments about the beautiful sounds that Roy plays on that keyboard. Thanks for another year, Roy.
Larry King. We enjoyed lots of good vocals as well as bass playing by Larry.
Harold Blake - The durability of a drummer is awesome.
Don Lewis - The man who knows every song in the book.
Hayden Bramlett - Thanks for the fiddle enhancement. Good job.
Beverly Harris and her 12 string Sierra
Ed Doty played some good songs this weekend. Great job, Ed.
Jerry Foster had a great set, as always. Glad you got to be here, Jerry.
Michael Beasley sings as well as plays. Sounded good, Michael.
Larry Garrett is a musician from Siloam Springs Club. Thanks for being here, Larry. Good playing.
Everybody LOVES Corky Davis, not only as a musician, but as a person.
Bob Garret sings along with playing, but is also willing to sing some harmony with others.
It was an honor to have Rick Eaves in the lineup. What a player!! It was wonderful.
This guy doesn't need introductions, but Terry Bethel, we were so happy to have you with us again. Great set.
Steve Melchi. Steve always has a joke or story. Good to have you here.
Terry Wood and Zane. What a fun time to get to be on stage with you best buddy. Thanks for sharing your talents.
Jacob King, you played some of my favorites. Great to have you in BA.
Mike McGee, we were so glad that you got to be here at least one day. Thanks for all you do for music.
Jason Stilwell - great player and singer (but you're going to see his mischieveness in a later picture)
With whom are the guys wanting to visit? Oh, it's the 13 year old, Jacob King.
Jacob, you need to thank God every day for your talent and it's obvious that you
are applying it to the steel guitar.
Terry Canida. Good to see you again in OK. Good set.
Beverly Harris-Steel, Karen White-keyboard, Kim Birdsong-bass, Janie Lollis-drums,
Andrea Turner-Rhythm guitar, Shelley Williams-fiddle and saxophone. We are the
Touch of Silver, but frequently referred to as "the girl band".
Jerry Roller, a smooth steel player from Arkansas.
Paul King made it to BA from Texas. We are glad you got to come on up to see us.
That song you asked Larry to sing was absolutely beautiful.
Watch for David Wright to take off that white cowboy hat.
See, I told you. The blues like no other!! I love the blues.
Mr. Gene Crain - lots of good music.
Rick Crow-OSGA member, hard working, great player. I always enjoy your playlist.
Haley Bagwell-One of the comments that I heard was "A little stick of dynamite". Sweet vocals.
Wayne Morton-president of OSGA, which requires lots of responsibilities.
Wayne played for Haley. It was great.
Marty Neer-If you missed hearing Marty play "Amazing Grace" this weekend, you need to put him on your list to hear.
Will Clark-Which did you like better, his songs or his jokes?
John Buffington - We are so fortunate in having you to be here especially after 8 years. Great music.
Thank you Soundman Mark Appleman (Playhouse) and Mike Harris for spending several days rewiring that sound system from a "Play" to "Music" mode.
Thank you for stepping in to help with the drums. He had a great surprise from his granddaughter's visit.
I wish I had the energy that Larry Jackson does on those drums. Thanks, Larry.
Drummer Phillip is helping out with the drumming for his Texas friend, Paul King.
Wonderful voice, Jason King. What a beautiful thing being on stage with the family.
Another father/son stage. Such a wonderful thing for Jason Stilwell and his dad..
Michael Beasley and Jerry Foster. Good stuff.
Not all of Corky's band was here, but we enjoyed the ones who got to attend.
Larry Lange, thanks for sharing your talents.
Max King-Wichita Lineman was great!!
Mike McGee-give him any instrument.
Paul and Larry = Wise Old Pilot How beautiful was that!!!!
David Young shared the stage with Terry Bethel, but I think it was a
pleasant surprise when John Terry and Larry King joined in on harmony. Great sound.
Another father/son stage John and Dustin Terry. Perfect harmony.
John Terry shared the stage with Rick Eaves. Good music.
Well, two part harmony was great with John and Dustin, but the three part harmony with Larry joining was also beautiful.
Larry Lange - singing, playing guitar. Thanks for coming up to BA
Leta Canida sang beautifully along with her husband's steel guitar. She also was the winner for the one-year AAA membership.
Rebecca Jean (aka "Red") great vocals
The King Brothers - they may not have the same mother, but they do have the same Heavenly Father.
Another blessed father/son stage Trey Buffington
Well, I guess during the next year, I'll have to work on playing in HIGH HEELS. Thanks a lot, Jason.
This year, we decided to use audio/video for advertisements "What to do in BA".
I hope that the maps and videos helped you to find things during your stay.
B.J. Richards - 50/50 winner.
Bob Massey, another 50/50 winner.
Winner of the OSGA shirt.
Wow, these really looked good Fri. and Sat. mornings with a good cup of coffee.
Thanks, Justin.
Lunchtime
Dinnertime
After all the hard work, the two days have come and gone so quickly. We are thankful for attentive audiences and spouses.
I hope I didn't leave anyone out of the list of pictures.
Guys, I'll try to find letters next year for you, but Girls, Girls, was already there so I just had to add Band. Guess who loaned us this sign. Thanks, Max.
We hope to see you next year, Lord willing.

Thank you Beverly for posting all the pictures. I understand you played a big part in the show being a success. The name of the song Larry King sang for me was "Wise Old Pilot" by David Patillo, a fantastic singer and songwriter. Also, thanks for taking the sign about shoes as a joke. I am sure that was what Jason intended it to be. What a great weekend it was and the fellowship was awesome. |

Great job Beverly! Thanks for all your hard work. I really enjoyed the music as well as the fellowship. I had a family reunion in Oklahoma City so had to miss Saturday, but I'm already looking forward to the next steel guitar get-together. |

I had a great time; just wish I could have stayed around a little longer. I love a good joke almost as much as a good song, so when I saw that sign backstage, I knew I'd get SOMEBODY. |

You are so welcome, OSGA.
I didn't know how much it took to get ready for a show. I know that Wayne and Susie worked Ada last year. I have not been in the club long enough to know very much history in the procedures for running a convention.
To all players, to whatever club you belong, offer to help.
The more workers, the more successful. ...
I heard great comments from some BA people. They were amazed what good music they heard. |
