My friend has Tinnitus and is losing his hearing from all the years of recording music with headsets on. His one wish is to see and hear Bobby Black one last time. Does anyone have any idea if Bobby is still performing anywhere in the Santa Clara County CA area? . Thank you.

Hi Ian, thank you so much. Unfortunately there is too much road noise for my friend to bear with his advanced Tinnitus. Would you know if Bobby would be performinbg any gigs in the Santa Clara County area? Bobby may remember a BOB ANDERSON who played steel for years, even for Little Jimmy Dickens when Jimmy was getting started. His son Dave Anderson, now in Mountain View CA would love to see/hear Bobby perform one last time before his hearing is gone.

Thank you kindly Jerry for stopping by and visiting my friend Dave Anderson, son to Bobby "Swampgrass" Anderson and his Mom, Marjorie. They were honored to have you play their steel and for you to watch them play their Multi Kords and Margie play her piano. I know they will look forward to seeing Bobby Black if he plays nearby.

This seems like a personal thread but the question has remained unanswered for the rest of us.
All I know is that Bobby still plays regularly in California and at steel shows. He is not tied down to a single group and does not post his schedule online, so there is no way I know of to find out where he's going to be unless you know him personally. I'm sure he prefers it this way for obvious reasons. |
