I found this on EBAY...This must be a mistake? Weren't there Emmons D10's before '69 or is there something different about this one?

Super rare vintage 1969 Emmons D10 pedal steel guitar item number: 7309149192

It looks to be a 1970 model from the info on the Carter website. http://www.steelguitar.com/resource/pushpullinfo/d10pushpull_sn.htm I don't believe this is a wraparound like the earliest guitars were.

When I was a kid I read a comic book "Dennis the Menace Goes to Hawaii". Everything I know about Hawaii I learned from that comic. In other words I don't know nuthin but stupid misinformation on the subject. Somewhere out there is an ebay browser or three who now thinks that he knows the fact that 1969 was the first year for Emmons p/p D-10s.
I'll assume that there is some specific aspect of this guitar that may be a first--first rosewood/black hybrid? first Emmons to have a blue case? I dunno.

1964 was the first year.

A buddy of mine got took on the street in New Orleans by a little break-dancing kid who bet him $20 that "I can tell you where you got them shoes." My friend, having bought his beautiful snake-skin Tony Lamas in an Oregon store, went for it hook, line and sinker and then the kid says "I tell you where you got them. You got them on your feet. Right here in New Orleans, Louisiana, now you gonna give me my twenty bucks?!!"

He did. The kid was absolutely right. And this WAS the first year that THIS particular instrument was made.

What's with the crooked pedal rods? What year did Emmons start using the new style plastic decal on the front? It looks nice but I sure would like to see under the hood especially the way the rods look,

About the crooked pedal rods...with no view of the underside, it looks like the rods are not hooked up to the pulls. Note that the pedals 3 through 8 are on the floor. That's probably why the pedal rods look "crooked"...they're just propped up there.

Be careful about this one...Power Seller or not.

Jerry's right on the mark as is Ricky .With the serial number this seller is giving it would be a 1970 model p/p D-10.First Emmons P/P guitar made in 1964/65.I would want to see pictures of the undercarriage before bidding on this guitar.
I personally prefer the 84/85 model all pull short head Legrande. Just my opinion
