I can't wait till Fred retires when everyone will realize what fantastic guitars he builds and the price will triple!
Get one while you still can

Hey thanks Steve, good to hear from you buddy.
Well, you might have a longer wait than you thought.
Don't know how long it will be, but I'm going to take it right out to the end till I drop.
I love building these guitars, every guitar just keeps raising my spirits.
The good Lord willing and Ibuprofen, I'll keep slugging away.

'Slugging Away'......Fred, isn't that a Bill Anderson song made famous by Jean Shepard?

Ben I couldn't tell you, as I didn't listen to Jean Shepard too much.
Can't say it better

Can't say it better than that.
Why do some people retire anyway?
Maybe they didn't love what they did for a living.

I was in the Phoenix area recently and I was in the market for a steel. I emailed Fred and he called me right away. I met him at his shop the next day.
I can't tell you how gracious and inviting and warm a gentleman he was. He showed me a steel he's working on and then let me sit down and play his own personal one.
I, of course, suck because I'm a newbie. I hadn't really "tested" any other steels other than the two student models I've had. Man, his pedals play, feel, and sound GREAT!
He then sat down and proceeded to play. Oh, man. Fred, if I ever get to the point where I'm half as good as you, I'll die a happy man.
Well, I was looking for a 12-string (cuz as a guitar player I want those lower guitar notes) so I didn't buy from him but I had one of the most memorable experiences ever and I'll never forget my few minutes in his company.
Thanks, Fred!
Great Guy

I was in AZ a few months ago and Fred took time to meet me at his home. He let me watch him build a cool guitar. I was impressed with his guitars and he let me try out #1 and then played it properly for me
. Also would like to thank him for asking about my status with GOD, not many people are open about that subject.
Travis.

Fred,
Are your pull rods aluminium or stainless (attached to the bell crank)?
