Well, it'd be designed to sound rich and stay clean.
On the downside, I'm betting it's a PCB amp.
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

well, I would pass at $1600 !

They pulled the NORM Channel 12AX7 and replaced it with a 12AY7 which is a lightly lower gain tube , then they replaced the 2x12's with Neodynes.

The one thing that I do like is they are back to the original Twin Reverb advertised power specs of 85 watts rather than the hyped 100 watts.

They are advertising it as a CLEAN sounding amp, well blow me down with a vacuum cleaner, Twin Reverbs have a legacy of being CLEAN. Even with the 12AX7 up front.

What happened to the George Benson Hot Rod Deluxe model ?

Lane is correct, ALL TUBE but with the modern era PC bds like the TR/RI. Fender did NOT manufacture another TWIN REVERB .

My take, grab a Silverface TR from the early 70's with or without the Master Volume. Change the speakers and preamp tube if you want and you will have the real deal.

At half the rice.

Speakers are so subjective, hard to say. I personally like the stock Fender Eminence ( gold label) but they can be a tad bright or even brittle, but the mid ranges are very controlled. I would rather deal with bright than excessive mids. But thats just me.

I would stick with the stock 12AX7 preamp tube, it's been there since 1963 why change now ! :)

PM Sam Marshall. He works in the amp design department at Fender. He's a member here and a pedal steel player. He would know.
