Hello Guys I'm a complete rookie on steel guitars but a guy gave me a D/10 pedal steel and I'm trying to find out info on it. On th necks it has the letters B on the frets and the name Bowman spelled out on the 12. Has the Bowman underneath. On the front looking at it the right side a plastic engraved plate with name Robert. Any info would be appreciated.
Thank You ! Richie Wells |

BB was one of the BEST and I am glad that he was my friend! If you needed help, he was always available. _________________ If you succeed in cheating someone, don't think that the person is a fool. It's just that the person trusted you far more than you deserved. |

I'd like to have BB's red p/p Emmons. Don't know who has it though. He was related by marriage at one time, as an uncle. Last time I saw him was at the 2006 Dallas show but we had talked several times. I bought one the ETS guitars because he was selling them. I let him pick the color which was, of course, red. I also met Bud Carter at the same show and we talked for a while. He built seven new Carters for me when I was playing there guitars. Bobby was a big Emmons and Day man, as most of us were and are. My first influences at age 13 or 14 were John Hughey & Lloyd Green. Later on, I listened to all steel players, as I do now. |

I spoke with Bobby often and he had mentioned on several occasions about building guitars. I believe this was done thru the help of a TX businessman that owned some kind of pump manufacturing or repair business. Of course the guitar manufacturing business was not a lucrative one and the partnership had dissolved at some point with only a few having been made. Not sure of how many. |
