I am finally the proud owner of a MSA D10. I did a lot of worrying over getting the "right" guitar to start learning on. I wanted to get something I could grow into rather than grow out of, so that is why I did not want a student model. It is a 7 pedal/4 knee so I guess I will have a lot of growing into. I want to thank all of you that I have talked to and emailed while helping me to determine what it was I wanted. I am sure I will have a LOT of questions in the not to distant future.

That's one clean guitar.
Those MSA Classics were built solid.
It's a great instrument to "grow into".

but Heavy, I know, I started on one.

Thanks, Yeah, I know it is heavy but in all honesty, it will probably never leave my house.

Your lucky that I already have one like that. It was on the top of my items to watch on Ebay! Great guitar, you made a very good choice. Much cooler than a student thing.

Don, I recently sold one identical to that except it had 8 pedals. I had completely refurbished the undercarriage and added a set of 705's to it. That is one great sounding and playing guitar and MSA's have just about the best mechanisms of any pedal steel. They are also one of the easiest and versatile guitars to work on. Good luck!

Does anyone know of a website where I can research this serial number? I have emailed Reece, maybe he will have some info for me in the morning.

Just got an email from Reece. It appears that mine was made in April of 74 and originally had 8 pedals and 2 knees. Somewhere a pedal was lost and 2 knees were added. I might have to hit up ole Bob Carlucci for some info on the pickups when the time comes I understand he is one of the resident "MSA men" and has spent many years with these PSG's
