From "Don't come crying to me when it's over" - Vince Gill, with (I am guessing from the phrasing) Paul Franklin on steel.

In the steel solo at 1:53, just after it goes through D to G, en route back to C, there's a neat descending lick from G (the V chord) to C (the I chord). I think it goes like this, although I am not 100% sure about the last note but one:
Bar:...................(gliss)......................................(gliss).....
3: ------10b-----9b-----8b------8------7------6------4------3-----------------
4: ------10------9e------8e-----8e-----7e----6e------4f-----3-----------------
5: ------10a-----9-------8-------8------7------6------4a-----3-----------------
Chords:.G..................G7.......Em............Dm........F.......G
Labelling of knee levers: f = "raise E's", e = "lower E's", a & b are standard for raising 5/10 and 3/6 respectively.
Any thoughts, anyone?

Ah yes, of course, PF came later, after Papa John. Well spotted, Ian. Thanks - shows somebody reads these posts. Not a dickybird from BSS members, and it's been up 2 days longer on BSS. _________________ Williams 700 series keyless U12,

Very nice. That's my practice lick for this week. I just don't have the ears yet to figure that stuff out for myself. |
