There is a real nice looking Miller on Ebay. Not sure how to link to it or I would. Anyone know anything about these? I've never seen nor heard of one, but it looks like a fine guitar.

Millers were built in Illinois by Roger Miller (not the songwriter), in the 60's and 70's. Roger was a nice guy, he's now departed.

The guitars of his that I've seen, around a dozen or so, seemed to me to be based on the design of a Sho~Bud permanent model. Michael Nesmith had one back in the late 60's that I played briefly, and it was difficult to keep in tune.

Edited to correct location of MG's. Joe Fortune nicely sent me an email reminding me that Roger Miller lived in Chillicothe ILLINOIS. I knew it was one of them states up 'thar.

I had a preacher call me Sunday about this steel. I know nothing about the Miller brand but offered to find out through the forum. The preacher is starting a new church in Michigan and the seller is going to give him a donation to the church for helping him sell the steel. I hope they get a fair price since some of the money id going for a good cause.

I had two Miller Customs.
A 1964 and a 1966. Good looking and good
sounding.A nightmare to keep in tune.
A string eater. My Advice let it go
and there are good modern steels out there.

I'll second Lee's response. It was the first pedal steel I owned. Beautiful but ate strings and couldn't keep it in tune.

Bought one new in the early 70's. It sounded great, looked great, but I gave up trying to keep it in tune. And yes, mine ate 3rd. strings like crazy.

I just got a nice email from John Peters informing me that Roger Miller is indeed alive and playing steel guitar in Galesburg IL.

So apparently, the rumors of his death are greatly exaggerated.
