I sure like to see we're still talking about Buddy Emmons and analyzing his music.

This and "Wichita Lineman" are my favorites. I've tried and tried to figure the sound on "Wild Mountain Thyme." The closest I got (that's a joke) was to record the steel off the volume pedal straight into Pro Tools with no effects. So I'm thinking BE cut "Wild Mountain Thyme" direct. The guitar probably was the 12 string Basket Weave to the 2" at Music City Recorders. I'm saying this but I'm sure there's players that more about this than I do.
