What with all the talk about P/Ps lately I was doing a little research on Google and came up with this:

Bobby Bowman's reputation as an expert P/P mechanic precedes him, but a manufacturer as well? Does the B model come in Bolt-on and/or Wrap-around?

Brian,
With a long paragraph or two to explain why, the "B" guitars are no longer available. They havn't been for a few years now. Just as we were really getting "off the block" in both sales and design improvements, major medical/physical problems fell upon us and this beset major financial problems that we could not overcome.
The guitar was really more of a split tail design than it was a wrap around or bolt on. It probably could be called a split tail bolt on. With just a little improvement here and there it would have been a really fine guitar.
If memory serves me correctly, the black double 10 shown in that picture went to Forumite and friend Steve Wellborn out in California.
Those were some good times and good dreams back then, but I guess it was just not meant to be.
I still have hopes and dreams of putting out a guitar one of these days. I am constantly tickering with ideas and conceptions about pedal steel guitars. With a lot of luck, it may well happen. Money and time are the big obstacles right now, as they are with a lot of folks. I stay backed up and real busy on guitar repairs these days. For that I am thankfull. It helps to keep a few beans and cornbread on the table,,,litterally.
Thanks for your interest and kind words. Wishing you and all my friends a merry Christmas and happy Holidays.
God bless,
BB

I feel fortunate to own what I guess may be the last D10 "B" guitar Bobby made. It's a very classy looking and sounding steel. A P/P with smooth, modern action, built like a tank, and very full ballsy sound with harmonics from heaven. Its too bad production could'nt countinue. I hope health and finances are seeing better days Bobby and you can continue makin em!
