Holiday Concert and Inspiration

Post by Marty Muse »

Just a quick note to wish all Forumites a happy holiday and tell you about a concert I played the other day for Eldie Weisner. Eldie is 97 years old and was a steel guitarist around Austin, TX for many years. He is in an alzheimer's facility now. Bill Kirchen and I played a little 30 minute concert for he and his friends, including his daughter, grand-daughter and great great-daughter! His daughter brought his first steel out that he bought in, I think, 1938. What a wonderful experience. It brought a lot of joy to me and, I believe, to Mr. Weisner as well. Thanks to Swan Songs, a great organization that matches Austin musicians with people at end of life for special request concerts. Below is a pic of us with Eldie and his Gibson EH-150.
