Any Vegetable
I like to share my bands music with you.
It is no countrymusic at all.
The name of the band is Any Vegetable (Yes, we are big Zappa fans )
We come from the Netherlands, Europe and we play together as a band for two years now. This band is a crazy combination of professional musicians (all with musical degrees) with different backgrounds.
We write our own songs and got a recorddeal last Spring. We went into a studio in Holland, recorded there and did the mastering in Nashville.
As a steeler I am a very strange fish in the pond, but to me it blends very well in this music. We are just getting a lot of support from our recordcompany Continental Record Services and will have a tight agenda with promotion gigs and TV-shows.
I recorded the pedalsteel in 3 days time. I did lots of layers in the recordings. The producer used tons of effects on it, sometimes it sounds like a slideguitar, sometimes like a stringsection and sometimes like synths. We didn’t use keys at all! In a few songs we used a guest on English Horn.
The basics I recorded with my WBS steelguitar through a Fractal Audio Axe FX2. From there into the console.
Yes, we are very proud of the results, now we hope to get other people to enjoy our music as much as we do.
We would like to play in the States. If anyone of this steelersgroup has contacts to bookers and promotors, please recommend us to them!
I hope you will give this a listen, it is ‘strange music”… If you like it, please give us some nice comments in this thread. Maybe the recordcompany will be convinced then to release the album Veg Out in other countries as well.
When there are enough people that like to buy the album (in a few months it will be on I-tunes also), I will try to send some to the States, who knows, through this forum, if B0B allows me
Thanks a lot for reading this and please give me some replies on this.
Cheers, Johan

Cool stuff, Johan! Always happy to hear steel in contexts outside country. Tight buncha folks, there!
And yes, I'd buy a CD.
You should also consider putting something here on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1032145340176633/, the Adventurous Pedal Steel group. _________________ 1979 MSA U12 Pedal Steel

I like the album!
Very cool slant on using steel, no pun intended. _________________ 1979 MSA U12 Pedal Steel
