I've had a lot of problems the last couple of years getting the A&B pedals to bottom out together and/or raising the 5th string due to Neuropathy in my feet caused by chemo. I've tinkered with it off and on for a long time but never moved the rods to different changer raise slots. I got a copy of the Derby rodding chart and the Emmons rodding chart and noticed they both used the 2nd and 3rd raise slots for string 5 and the 3rd raise slot for string 6. I don't have a problem with a friend's Legrande II on the A/B pedals (his is factory setup).
From the original Franklin rodding, the A pedal 5th string raise was moved from changer raise slot 1 (top) to slot 2 and the C pedal 5th string raise was changed from changer raise slot 2 to slot 3. The B pedal 6th string raise was moved from slot 1 to slot 3. The puller slots remain the same. This aligns the pulls the same as Derby and Emmons. The original Franklin setup compares with the Sho-Bud chart I have, and considering Paul Franklin (Sr) worked for Sho-Bud before starting his own company, there is "Sho-Bud" heritage in the Franklin design.
The pedals now bottom out together and hopefully this will solve my problem. |

Hey Jack. Interesting information. I knew that Paul Sr. worked for Sho Bud but never thought about how much Sho Bud "legacy" might be in the Franklin.
Wish I could find and afford a Franklin.
Glad you found a solution.
Hope you are feeling well.
Happy Holidays to you.

BTW, Forumites, if you haven't heard Jack Stoner's CD, you need to. Excellent work in my opinion. |

I'll second Bill's comment on Jack's CD...he makes his Franklin sound great and has his own playing style that makes it a pleasure to hear. Carl |
