I just stumbled onto a lightweight preamp/power amp combination tonight. I tried using my Boss FBM-1 pedal for a preamp combined with a Quilter 200 Tone Block and was amazed at the results. Most players use the FBM-1 as an effects pedal, but it makes a great clean preamp. My chain is: FBM-1, Carbon Copy Delay, Hall Of Fame reverb, Tone Block. Compact, lightweight, lots of punch with fat tone. Excellent clean tube sound with plenty of volume.
