Buddy Charleton - Wow!
The last I heard of him, he was working weekends outside of Washington DC.
Anybody know if he's still alive?

Neil,
I'm sorry to say Buddy passed away in 2011. He was one of my most favorite steel players. He had a touch all his own that many players on here wished they had.
May he rest in peace.

Me too Mark, but do they actually wear those hats on purpose?

Thanks for that one, David. Next time someone asks me "What's the difference between the two necks?" the perfect demo is right there! :)

Was there ever a guy who looked more like he BELONGED behind a steel guitar?

Mega Ditto's on your post Clyde.

Here's one more video that shows Buddy Charleton up close on several tunes.

I am amazed at how much Buddy gets out of a guitar with such a simple set-up. A true artist for sure! IMHO

It costs a lot of money to look that good, but E.T. could afford it, Hats & the whole uniform. 8)
