I played one of my old Dobro favorites, "Skokaiian"
today and I hadn't realised how much this music meant to me, and I got very emotional about it, when we look back to the players that have sadly gone and what they gave to us we realise that at times we didn't appreciate them enough while they are here, Josh is someone I have never seen but I love what he gave us, rest in peace Josh, from a lifetime fan.

I was just recently hipped to the breadth of Josh's interest in many different kinds of music. This tune Skokaiian is based on a South African tune that was a minor hit in the 1950s and played by Hugh Masakela, Louis Armstrong, and others.

Here's another example- Gretna Green, based on a Brazilian tune also known as the Theme from Anna, a movie from the early 1950s.

here's the movie version

Tip of the bar to Stacy Phillips for the info.
